Search & Discovery Analytics

Updated Jun 30, 2026 1 min read

Your storefront generates a steady stream of intent — what people type into search and which products they linger on. The Search & Discovery Analytics page collects it in one place, free.

Where to find it

Open Customer History → Search Analytics. It’s a store-wide view (across all shoppers, not one customer), covering the free 90-day window.

Top & recent searches

Two views of on-site search: the top searches ranked by how often each term is used, and the most recent searches as they come in. Together they show both the steady demand and what people are looking for right now.

Most-viewed products

The products getting the most attention, ranked by view count. High views are a strong interest signal — a cue to improve a product’s photos, description, or placement, or to feature it.

Viewed categories

Which product categories shoppers browse most, so you can see where interest is concentrated and plan range or promotions around it.

How to use it

  • Find catalogue gaps — searches for things you don’t sell are demand you’re currently turning away.
  • Speak your customers’ language — the words shoppers actually use are the words to put in your titles and descriptions.
  • Merchandise with evidence — promote the products and categories that are already pulling attention.

Good to know

Search tracking follows WooCommerce’s built-in product search, and it records the search terms — not a count of how many results each search returned. Product and category “views” come from the pages shoppers actually open.

Going further with Pro Pro

Pro adds the deeper Statistics & Sessions pages — a viewed-vs-purchased ratio, product-view stats, live searches, and per-customer search history on each profile — beyond the 90-day window.
