What Data Is Collected?
Data Collection Overview
Customer History collects behavioral and transactional data to help you understand your customers better. All data stays on your server.
Session Data
Information about each visit:
- Session ID: Unique identifier for this visit
- Date & Time: When session started and ended
- Duration: Total time spent on site
- Pages Viewed: List of URLs visited
- Entry Page: First page viewed
- Exit Page: Last page before leaving
- Page Count: Number of pages viewed
Traffic Source
How visitors found your store:
- Referrer URL: Website they came from
- Source Type: Direct, organic search, social, email, etc.
- Campaign Info: UTM parameters if present
- Landing Page: First page visited
Device & Browser
Technical information:
- Device Type: Desktop, tablet, or mobile
- Operating System: Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, etc.
- Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.
- Screen Resolution: Display size
- User Agent: Browser identification string
Location Data
Geographic information (optional):
- IP Address: Can be anonymized
- Country: Derived from IP
- Region/State: If available
- City: If available
- Timezone: Browser timezone
Privacy Note
You can enable IP anonymization to mask the last octet (192.168.1.XXX) or not store IPs at all.
Product Interactions
Product viewing behavior:
- Products Viewed: Which products they looked at
- View Count: How many times viewed
- Time on Product: How long they stayed
- Categories Browsed: Product categories visited
- Brands Viewed: If using brand taxonomy
Cart Activity
Shopping cart interactions:
- Items Added: Products added to cart
- Items Removed: Products removed from cart
- Cart Value: Total cart amount
- Abandoned Cart: If they left without buying
- Checkout Started: If they began checkout
Search Queries
Site search behavior:
- Search Terms: What they searched for
- Search Date: When they searched
- Results Count: Number of results shown
- Clicked Results: Which products they clicked
Customer Information
From WordPress and WooCommerce:
- User ID: WordPress user ID (if logged in)
- Email: From user account
- Name: First and last name
- Registration Date: When they created account
- Customer Role: WordPress user role
Order Data
Purchase information from WooCommerce:
- Order Number: WooCommerce order ID
- Order Date: When purchased
- Order Total: Amount spent
- Products Purchased: Items bought
- Order Status: Completed, pending, etc.
- Payment Method: How they paid
- Shipping Method: Delivery option chosen
Email Engagement
Email campaign tracking (Premium):
- Emails Sent: Which emails were sent
- Opens: If they opened email
- Clicks: Links clicked in email
- Conversions: Purchases from email
What’s NOT Collected
Data we specifically exclude:
- Passwords: Never stored or tracked
- Payment Details: Credit card info not tracked
- Form Inputs: What you type in forms
- Private Messages: Email or chat contents
- Personal Notes: Order notes or comments
- Mouse Movements: Cursor tracking disabled
- Keystrokes: No keystroke logging
Data Storage
Where data is kept:
- Location: Your WordPress database
- Tables: Custom database tables with prefix
- Security: Same security as WordPress
- No External Servers: Data never leaves your hosting
Data Retention
How long data is kept:
- Sessions: 30-90 days (configurable)
- Customer Profiles: Forever (until deleted)
- Order Data: Synced from WooCommerce
- Analytics: Can be archived after 1 year
Data Access
Who can see the data:
- Administrators: Full access to all data
- Shop Managers: Can view customer data
- Other Roles: No access by default
- Customers: Can request their own data
