Before You Uninstall

Step 1: Export Your Data

Before uninstalling, save your valuable customer data:

  1. Go to Customer History → Settings
  2. Click the Export tab
  3. Select what you want to export:
    • Customer list and details
    • Session history
    • Search analytics
    • Product view data
    • Plugin settings
  4. Click Export to CSV
  5. Save the exported files to your computer

Step 2: Deactivate the Plugin

Deactivating stops the plugin from running but keeps your data:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Find “Customer History for WooCommerce”
  3. Click Deactivate
Data Preserved

Deactivating the plugin keeps all your data in the database. You can reactivate it later without losing any information.

Step 3: Delete the Plugin

To completely remove the plugin files:

  1. Ensure the plugin is deactivated first
  2. Click Delete under the plugin name
  3. WordPress will show a confirmation dialog
  4. Click OK to confirm deletion

Step 4: Remove Database Tables (Optional)

Warning: This Cannot Be Undone

Removing database tables permanently deletes all customer history data. This action is irreversible!

By default, the plugin keeps your data even after deletion. To completely remove all data:

  1. Before deleting the plugin, go to Customer History → Settings
  2. Enable “Delete Data on Uninstall
  3. Click Save Changes
  4. Now when you delete the plugin, all data will be removed

Alternative: Manual Database Cleanup

If you’ve already deleted the plugin but want to remove the data:

  • Access phpMyAdmin in your hosting control panel
  • Select your WordPress database
  • Find tables starting with wp_puredevs_customer_
  • Select these tables and click “Drop”

Only perform manual database operations if you’re comfortable with phpMyAdmin. Always backup your database first!

What Gets Removed

When you delete the plugin with “Delete Data on Uninstall” enabled:

  • ✓ All plugin files and folders
  • ✓ Customer tracking data
  • ✓ Session history
  • ✓ Search analytics
  • ✓ Email templates
  • ✓ Referral codes and data
  • ✓ Plugin settings and configuration

What is NOT removed:

  • ✗ Your WooCommerce orders
  • ✗ WordPress user accounts
  • ✗ Any other WordPress or WooCommerce data
