Customer Lifecycle

  • New customers (first 30 days)

Creating Segments

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to Customer History → Segments
  2. Click Create New Segment
  3. Name your segment
  4. Add filtering criteria:
    • Choose attribute (e.g., Total Spent)
    • Select operator (greater than, less than, equals)
    • Enter value (e.g., $500)
  5. Add multiple criteria with AND/OR logic
  6. Preview matching customers
  7. Save segment

Pre-Built Segments

VIP Customers

Criteria:

  • Total spent > $1,000 OR
  • Orders placed > 10 OR
  • Customer tier = Platinum/Gold

At-Risk Customers

Criteria:

  • Previous orders > 2 AND
  • Days since last purchase > 60 AND
  • Email opens in last 30 days = 0

Brand New Customers

Criteria:

  • Account created within last 7 days AND
  • First purchase completed

One-Time Buyers

Criteria:

  • Total orders = 1 AND
  • Days since purchase > 30

High Spenders

Criteria:

  • Average order value > $200 OR
  • Total lifetime value > $2,000

Cart Abandoners

Criteria:

  • Cart abandoned in last 7 days AND
  • Cart value > $50 AND
  • No follow-up purchase made

Using Segments

Email Campaigns

Send targeted emails to segments:

  1. Select segment
  2. Click Send Email
  3. Choose or create email template
  4. Personalize content for segment
  5. Schedule or send immediately

Coupon Distribution

Generate segment-specific coupons:

  • Win-back offers for at-risk customers
  • VIP exclusive discounts

Export Segments

Export customer lists:

Dynamic Segments

Segments automatically update as customer behavior changes. A customer who was “at-risk” will move to “active” once they make a purchase.

Enable dynamic segments:

  1. Edit segment settings
  2. Enable “Auto-update membership”
  3. Set refresh frequency (hourly, daily)
  4. Save changes
